​OUR STAINLESS STEEL COOLANT RETURN PIPE KIT IS ENGINEERED TO REPLACE THE OE RUBBER LINE THAT HAS SINCE BEEN DISCONTINUED FROM GM AND WILL RELOCATE THE TEMPERATURE PICKUP SENSOR FROM THE THERMOSTAT HOUSING TO WHERE THE COOLANT LEAVES THE MOTOR ON ITS WAY BACK TO THE RADIATOR.

WHY RELOCATE THE TEMPERATURE SENSOR, THE FACTORY LOCATION WORKS WELL FOR THE DAILY DRIVER AND WEEKEND WARRIOR BUT FOR THOSE WHO USE THEIR KAPPA IN COMPETITIVE APPLICATIONS SUCH AS DRAG RACING, ROAD COURSE, OR AUTOCROSS EVENTS. THE RADIANT HEAT GENERATED FROM THE EXHAUST DURING EXTREME USE AND GIVEN ITS PROXIMITY TO THE THERMOSTAT HOUSING CAN PRODUCE INACCURATE COOLANT TEMPERATURE READINGS.

BY RELOCATING THE TEMPERATURE SENSOR TO WHERE THE COOLANT EXITS THE MOTOR AND STARTS ITS CYCLE BACK THROUGH THE COOLING SYSTEM YOU ARE GIVEN A MORE “ACCURATE” READING, AND ONE THAT IS NOT INFLUENCED BY THE EXCESSIVE HEAT GENERATED BY THE EXHAUST COMPONENTS.

THIS KIT WILL NOT SOLVE OVERHEATING ISSUES BUT WILL GIVE YOU THE MOST ACCURATE TEMPERATURE INFORMATION WHICH IN COMPETITIVE ENVIRONMENTS IS KEY.
